The effective heating zone of the heat treatment furnace refers to the allowable charging area in the heat treatment furnace that meets the requirements of the heat treatment process. The effective heating zone is also called the effective working area. The effective heating area of the heat treatment furnace is only related to the heat treatment process requirements, and has nothing to do with the furnace type, structure, and heat source type.

The effective heating zone shall be determined for any one of the following conditions of the heat treatment furnace:

1) The newly added heat treatment furnace is applied to production for the first time;
